Working with Related Assets
Editorial assets can be associated with other assets within the Related tab as either Child or Sibling assets. Child assets have a close relationship with the main asset, while Sibling assets have less relevance or importance.
For example, an article about Independence Day could feature child image assets of the fireworks and all the latest events for the current 4th of July. Articles and videos from the previous 4th of July would be well-suited as Sibling assets. - These assets hold a strong association to the main article, but not nearly as relevant as the Child asset. Child assets are naturally presented with more prominence over Sibling assets.
How to add media to an article
Within the Related tab, navigate to either the Child assets panel or Sibling assets panel and then select +Add. Use the dropdown menu, to select the option for how you'd like to obtain the asset:
Finds assets: Use this option to locate an existing Editorial asset.
Batch upload: Use this option to populate the Batch Upload tool for uploading a set of new assets.
From Syndication: Use this option to add assets from BLOX Syndication.
Asset types: Select an asset type to begin the creation of a new asset.
Inline Assets
When Child assets are associated with an asset, the default presentation of the article is defined by BLOX. For example, Audio assets that have been associated with an article will be featured at the bottom of the article, while Child images will be featured at the top within a slideshow carousel.
BLOX provides a variety of creative tools for enhancing the appearance of content, including the ability to feature content within body copy, presented inline.
How to add an Inline Asset
To present an asset inline, simply drag the asset into the body copy where you'd like the asset to appear. Inline assets cannot be dropped into the middle of a paragraph. If you want the text of a paragraph to flow to one side or the other of an inline asset, pull the child above the paragraph you want it to appear beside.
By default, inline images with a horizontal or square orientation are scaled to 100% width of the body copy. This can vary if the related content rail (left column) is used. Inline images with a vertical orientation are scaled to 35% width of the body copy.
Inline Asset Options
After an asset has been positioned inline, further alignment, width and presentation options can be configured by double-clicking on the asset to reveal the Inline Display Properties panel.
How to remove an Inline Asset
To remove an inline asset, right-click on the asset in the article and select Remove. Deleting an inline child asset does not remove it from Child assets. To remove an asset, it must be deleted from both the body of the article and from Child assets.
