For BLOX Appliances/VM Appliances, those shares are created at root.

The standard practice for other file-share servers/workstations is to have a root share of “tcms” in which the three folders are created.

• Mapped drives are discouraged due to the inherent issues of ensuring consistent mapping for all workstations.

Sub-folders required by share (note: on initial launch/successful login to Adobe InDesign, client code will create missing sub-folders as needed. Bold sub-folders/files below are required on initial launch)

tcms_data: Repository for all scripts and support files needed for Adobe InDesign/InCopy.  

• activeVersion:current version of client code and share to which alias/shortcut links are pointed
  • resources (repository for jsxbin files and other connection scripts)
  • Startup Scripts (Adobe reads scripts in this folder on startup)?
    
    
• Add-ons: support scripts as needed, such as folio settings, pdf output naming options
  
  
• General_Documents: series of 1-pagers and other PDFs for BLOX Total CMS support
  
  
• NextVersion: Suggested practice is for sites to download resources/Startup Scripts here before updating activeVersion folder/files. Suggest site have one workstation using this for shortcut/alias path for testing purposes
  
  
• RecentVersion: Suggested practice is for site to copy current activeVersion contents here in case they need to restore.

tcms_purged: all needed folders/subfolders will be created by client code as needed and designed for short-term storage of documents and other files associated with the production and output of Adobe InDesign files.  The BLOX OS janitor maintained appliances/VM appliances. BLOX Janitor is not an option for local file-share server.
